Kathy Brown, Deadly Tree (LANDSCAPE 2022)

I found this incredible Strangler Fig on my walk through the local rainforest and found that it's host was completely gone enabling me to climb inside and view the fascinating strangling branches that seemed to dissappear into the sky forming a long tunnel going upwards with light at the end. I found it very difficult to photograph with light coming in from all angles through all of the little windows and i had to change many settings to get even this one image from inside. Although deadly to its hosts it makes a beautiful and interesting scene with its mossy twisted branches and vines entangled, can you find my fingers in one of these images? Captured at Bruxner Park flora reserve, Coffs Harbour NSW.
