Samuel Markham, Distant Dancers (Single Shot 2019)

Tianjara Falls is a local spot that has eluded me for years. I have visited, photographed and scouted here hundreds of times over the years and remember coming here as a little kid. I had envisioned capturing something unusual at this special location for a long time. Arriving just before sunset the weather was putting on quite the show with a spectacular reversed sunset igniting the clouds above. The rumble of thunder was the thing that caught my attention the most though. After photographing the colour show. The sound of thunder drew closer and I began seeing faint flashes in the distance. A few moments later in the distance this double lightning bolt exploded and broke the sky apart. I continued to sit and watch the storm until it weakened and became soundless.
