Stuart Bell, Eclipse (SINGLE SHOT 2023)

Exmouth in Western Australia was the place to be this year if you wanted to witness a Hybrid Total Solar Eclipse. Of the 224 solar eclipses in the 21st century only seven will be a hybrid; hybrid because the eclipse can shift between an annular and total eclipse due to the earths surface being curved as the moons shadow moves across it. What you see here is the suns corona as the moon center’s itself in front of the sun. I could momentarily remove my solar filter to capture what can only be seen with special instruments or during a total solar eclipse.
