Jenny Younger, Foodchain - Magnolia Tree (B&W 2023)

Recent recovery time after illness and major surgery this year, had its ups and downs. However, I took every opportunity to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air in my back yard when I could. In the most positive way, I became an observer of nature. The garden was coming to life at the end of Winter, with this beautiful Star Magnolia bursting into bloom. I spent hours watching many creatures visiting this beautiful tree. Honey bees pollinating from flower to flower. New Holland Honey Eaters flashing their showy wings and snapping up the bees with their beaks. A Hawk scoping out the Honey Eaters from the sky, circling directly above. It was a privilege to see the food chain connecting and operating as it should. This daily ritual was so calming and grounding, no doubt a healing process for me.
