Theresa Lee, Fountains of Spring (B&W 2022)

Spring is the season of light and regeneration. Thanks to the existence of water we have organic life. Through my love of floral photography I’ve created a narrative symbolising the interdependence between water and life. Featuring Spring flowers with long curved stems to mirror the fluidity of water with their petals representing a cascading water fountain, I illustrate the form of water flowing through each flower, bringing them to life. A minimalist black and white composition in high key was an aesthetic choice, a step removed from how we usually see flowers in contrasting shades of grey.
