Jacob Dedman, Framed by society... (JUNIOR 2022)
This image was created after a tough day, and I wanted to take out how I was feeling and pour it into this photo. At that time I was feeling framed by society’s expectations of me, because I live with FASD, which affects me and makes things hard for me that others without FASD find easy. I want the world to be able to see me for the person that I am, not what they expect of me. I wanted the area within the frame to be black and white to depict my feelings at this time, in contrast to the colour that everyone else sees... In other words, What they see on the surface is not what lies beneath. Extra technical info: Edited in Adobe Lightroom Classic (brush tool for saturation, exposure, contrast, clarity, minor spot removal of dust spots on wall behind, selective editing of subject: saturation -0, contrast, clarity, exposure, highlights.)
