It took only a few taps for the young Ibis to trigger the parent bird into transferring its own breakfast into the youngster's inserted and gaping beak. There was great strength in the curving of the youngster's proximal wing to keep the parent bird from breaking free; looked as if it was offering shade, but that would have been a furphy!
