Andy Bennett, Hvar reflections (Travel 2019)

Hvar is a beautiful island in Croatia. Wandering around its main town of the same name, I loved the small harbour with many fishing boats gently bobbing just after sunset. As I photographed the boats I was drawn to their reflections, which appeared greenish because the shadows of the boats enabled one to see the vegetation under the water, while the rest of the water reflected the sky. In the last shot I excluded the boat altogether, flipped the image vertically, and 'sharpened' it to give some texture. I was aiming for something akin to an abstract painting.
