Helena Kristel, Iceland - Natural Beauty (TRAVEL 2023)

There is so much to photograph in Iceland, so much natural beauty. I found it very difficult to narrow down my image choices in this category. I spent 26 days in this magnificent country in May and am very thankful for my experiences and the photographic opportunities. In the end I decided to enter 3 natural scenes, a beautiful seal basking on ice in the lagoon, the unusual iceberg in the same lagoon and the iconic Kirkjufell Mountain and waterfalls photographed when it started to rain which gave a totally different feel to when I photographed the following morning. The fourth image was of a very picturesque town where I stayed one night. I was very pleased that the conditions provided for the magnificent mountains to be fully seen and for the wonderful reflection. The weather shifts so quickly in Iceland, most of the time the weather was challenging.
