Olivia Benson , Looking Down (B&W 2024)

I was always having to look at the ground because I had a stroke in May 18 2018 at 39 and since rehabilitation from the stroke and pain disorder my world has been looking down from my wheel chair and looking down with my walker and now walking looking down cause I'm afraid of falling. The ground at the Rocks at Terrigal Haven has beautiful ground of the shoal, underfoot. But after that and depending on the ground and underground it was beautiful to me. Then I found Woy Woy train road tunnels and I found beauty in the stark lines of the stairs and dark almost fearful I felt down there. With the graffiti. The gritty of the ground. Then at Terrigal Haven and the beauty of the stones above ground as well above, You just have to look down. My stroke I had is called an F.N.D. Functional Nurological Disorder. I've been rehabilitating for 6 years. I was 39 when it happened. It's my birthday 10th October so I turned 46. I want to make my mark on the world. I want to do everything I can do! Neck Brace, back Brace special feet bed straps. Rehab in the pool and at the gym. A trillion medication tablets and physiotherapy. Support Workers, learning to write again. Nothing is going to stop me. Photo 1 "Shoal on the Ground". It's the shoal at the Haven near the Skillion. I like mixing and playing with the shadows on the rocks. I like that they're is beauty on the ground. Photo 2 "climbing the stairs of art". This is at the Woy Woy train tunnel. Above is the crossing of the trains. I love how there is the word "art" on the steps. The photo was originally in a bit of more a sepia but I altered it to enter the Black and White section of the competition. So I did that change for a shot to show the urban underground. Made beautiful by the beauty of the steps. Art is a journey and it tells us so, on the steps. Photos 3. "Dancing Trucks" This was a shot of a construction site. I love the hard lines and huge pieces of a construction site. And it's been mirrored. It's made trucks.... beautiful with a few filters and crazy imagination. Photo 4 "Underground with Shadows" I have a lot of different angles I took of this area of the Woy Woy train tunnel crossing. It's intoxicating lines, urban art, the lines of sun coming to show the beauty that is the underground.
