Josh Shaw, Moments in the mountains (Single Shot 2019)

Arriving just moments before dawn, everything fell still and silent as the first light rose from the horizon - warming our frozen bodies while revealing what we had spent hours hiking through the night to witness. Sunrise had a euphoric ultra-violet quality to it, an initial burst of pigmentation as day and night rushed at each other in a clash of colour prisms and light beams before the fading stars surrendered to the warm golden glow of the sun. I hope this photograph can put you there in this very moment with me
