Michael Stanborough, Moods of Birrarung (Yarra River and valley) (LANDSCAPE 2023)
Aboriginal Legend: There was a time when the waters of Birrarung were once locked in the mountains. This great expanse of water was called Moorool or Great Water and it was so large that the Woiwurong had little hunting ground. Barwool, a Woiwurong headman, decided to release the water and cut a channel up the valley using his stone axe and this is how Birrarung was formed. A happy place for me.
