Sally Hinton, Mother and Calf (ANIMAL & NATURE 2024)

In the calm glassy waters of Platypus Bay baby humpbacks rest, grow and learn all the moves that will help them to safely migrate all the way down to the icy waters of Antarctica. The Mums bring their calves into the bay and it becomes a huge nursery. This little chap was practicing his moves much to our delight! Mum was sticking very close to this active little chap! It is hard to imagine it growing into a 40 ton mammoth of the seas in the years to come! It was a "glassy water" day without a breath of wind!
