The Rams Head Range is the roof of Australia, containing many of the highest peaks in Australia. The best time to photograph them is when cold, wet, and windy conditions abate during the depths of winter. The conditions are bleak and gloomy yet uplifting, producing awe-inspiring scenery as sun light begins to diffuse through thinner patches of low cloud racing across the range.
