Gail Yager, Nullabor Wedgetail (ANIMAL & NATURE 2023)

I came across this young Wedge-tailed Eagle by the side of the road. Instead of flying off when I got out of my car, he stayed put! I edged closer until I was about 10 metres from him. He flew to another tree which worked in my favour as it was next to the road and gave me a clear view. He was struggling to hang onto the branch in the strong winds which made for some dramatic poses. It was a grey dull morning so had to increase exposure to bring out that beautiful feather patterning.
