Kathy Brown, Old man emu (ANIMAL & NATURE 2022)

One warm spring day last October we were making our way across the land after spending some time by the Darling River at Gundabooka NP when we were slowly approached by this large and curious emu. He made his way across the red dirt towards us so we stood still under the shade of a river gum. We noticed that not so far away was a whole flock of emu's, a couple of adults and lots of chicks. I think this guy was just checking us out before moving away towards the river much to our relief. Captured at Yanda campground, Gundabooka NP, Bourke NSW.
