Lisa Carter, Pasni Ceremony - Baby Weaning Ceremony (PEOPLE 2020)

A celebration of the Nepalese Culture, where a child is first introduced to solid foods at the age of 6 months. A long standing tradition, a child of around the 6 months of age is dressed in red silk outfit adorned with gold thread, surrounded by a myrid of dishes that are prepared by the family. The child is first introduced to solid foods - usually Rice Pudding. This celebration was also accompanied by a priest who carried out the prayers, songs and blessings.
