Ron Smith, Raptors (ANIMAL & NATURE 2020)

Australia has some of the most beautiful Raptors. These four images were taken around my usual haunt of Avalon Airport. I like to have as much eye contact as possible, I think it is pretty special to have a Raptor looking at you as much as you look at them. The first image of the Hobby hawk was taken on cold bleak rainy morning. The second image of the Hobby Hawk about to feed on a freshly caught Australasian Pippit. The third image of the Swamp Harrier with the ominous eyes taken on another cold foggy winter morning. The fourth image of the Juvenile Spotted Harrier, It landed on the post and purporsely making that eye contact.

Images have been resized for web display, which may cause some loss of image quality. Note: Original high-resolution images are used for judging.
