Louise Faulkner, Reclamation (Single Shot 2021)

The vine grows into the branches of a tree it will eventually reclaim. A broken canopy paves the sunlit way for intrusive tendrils and long, scandent stems to reach, caress, invade. It is a metaphor for my presence here in this country, my ancestor's offensive. I share a deep apology, a reverential moment with this land, Worimi Country.
