Somdatta Ganguly, Rising from the Ashes (LANDSCAPE 2022)

After ‘Black Summer’ of 2019-2020, which saw the largest bushfire in Kangaroo Island in recent times, we went there in April, 2022 and still found explicit signs of the devastation. These are some pictures around the Vivonne Bay, where we can see a landscape of blackened cemetery of trees after 2 years of the bushfires, yet new life is being born. With the sunset, the dead trees will hand over life to the new sprouts and I am sure, the next time, we go there, the landscape will completely change.
