If I am lucky enough, I catch the dawn light. A special moment, sure…but lately I have been looking for the ‘sliver’: that narrow band of light between the horizon and, if I am lucky, a massive slab of stormy cloud above. When there is an object placed in the image, be it a fishing boat, the masts of yachts, a lighthouse or railway bridge, these structures are positively dwarfed by the clouds and highlighted by the sliver…
