Samuel Trevena, Stories in Motion (PEOPLE 2022)

While on a trip to Melbourne I was trying to understand what makes it so unique and why Sydney aspires to be more like it. As I walked around I began to realise that Melbourne takes identity and embraces it. Seeing the people inspired me to come up with this small gallery and develop this theory. Peoples stories are often not told, but shown through their presentation, body language and the environments they put themselves in. Taking a minute to watch people exist through moments in time can often give us perspective on the lives of the people around us, their struggles and successes, their identity and their culture. So next time you see someone passing by, have a think about who they are, what they might deal with in life and if you have the confidence why not say hello? It might lend you some perspective or even make someone’s day better.
