Whether open or closed, windows can add magic to the subject. Driving through the Harbour Bridge area in Sydney, water droplets settled on my driver-side window with the light rain, and I saw the harbor bridge through hundreds of water droplets, which looked artistic and magical. The result was accurate to what I saw.
