Louise Faulkner, Textures, Ocean Baths (Landscape 2019)

The Newcastle Ocean Baths are an iconic feature of the local landscape. Semi-white washed and well-worn by both humans and nature, they are as battered by storms and flooded by king tides, as they are by Novocastrians on hot day. The salt water baths can sometimes be as clear as clear as adjacent ocean, or slick with algae and sunscreen. They are unique, a place of textural wonderment and ever-changing colours.
