Emma Schlachter, The Church of Rodeo (Action 2019)

This series of photographs was taken at the Cooma Rodeo in May 2019. There's so much risk involved and so little harm done to most participants that it's not hard to imagine there is a Rodeo God out there, looking after cowboys like these. There is an element of 'prayer' , or even god-like courage in the face of adversity in each of the photos selected for the series.
