Benjamin Alldridge, The Golden Path (August theme: Perspective)
Airglow is both a friend and foe that tints truly dark night skies. Tasmania, owing to its island location and relatively tiny population outside of the three major centres, has some of the darkest skies on the planet; and, as a result, some of the most intense airglow. Paired with a setting Milky Way and the rugged dolerite of Ben Lomond's Jacob's Ladder, the scene exemplifies the benefits of a truly dark sky.
