Judy Taylor, 'The Journey' (Landscape 2019)

These photos were taken when my daughter had just left a toxic relationship, bad thoughts were running through her head so I decided to take her away for a few days. We headed to the beautiful Coffs Harbour, NSW. My daughter was broken however I encouraged her to get up early to see the sunrise on our first morning. It was when I got home and looked at the photos that each one had meaning in relation to her situation. My daughter had no idea I was taking these photos, deciding to leave her with her own thoughts. The first photo -,making the journey back to where she should be, the second - it's all about perspective on the grand scale of the universe, the third - a new day always comes and the last photo was on our road trip home, closure or the end. Although it was a difficult time she very much appreciated the experience away and is now a much stronger and confident young woman that I'm very proud of.
