Brian Love, The River Wolf (ANIMAL & NATURE 2024)

Giant River Otters sometimes referred as River Wolves, are the most voracious predators found in rivers in South America. The are opportunistic hunters and will catch and eat fish after fish. At a length of almost 6 ft I have seen them catch and devour fish as long and wide as themselves and they treat Piranhas like chew toys . Even the mighty Jaguar is generally not game to taken on Giant River Otters especially in a group. They are also the great entertainers of South American Wildlife. Playing, vocalising and generally having a good time, it is so much fun observing their antics. Images taken in one of the greatest wilderness area's on the planet, the Pantanal, Brazil.
