Kate Powick, Thornton's Peak (Single Shot 2021)
This shot was taken from a boat off the coast of Port Douglas, in Queensland's far north. It was a beautiful sunset, soft rather than brash, and I was particularly drawn to the beauty of Thornton's Peak (Queensland's 4th highest mountain), which forms part of the World Heritage Daintree Rainforest. As it is in this wet tropics area it is rare to see the summit of Thornton's Peak, so I felt very lucky that we (almost) did on this occasion!
