Rosemary Featherstone, Trapped in a Hexagon (Mirror)

The hexagon is an important shape within Islamic geometry, with mythical connotations, representing directions as well as the six virtues of generosity, self-discipline, patience, determination, insight and compassion. This is part of a piece called Lightning for Neda a pays homage to a 27 yr old Iranian woman killed in the streets of Tehran during protests that followed the 2009 presidential elections. I like to think of my reflection within the many shards of mirror as Neda.
