Katarina Lloyd Jones, Trapped in Paradise (TRAVEL 2024)

This entry documents the daily routines of Greek people, particularly, generational Athenians. The aim of the project is to showcase the faces of the people who have continued their lives as usual in the face of extreme tourism. These are people who have to battle with the ongoing transformation of their cities into a tourism circus, yet, at the same time they are reliant on high tourism numbers for an income. This project ultimately shows how while the world becomes increasingly connected, we are constantly pushing each other away.
