Mark Appleton, Twinkle Twinkle (May theme: The night sky)
Taken in Lancelin, Western Australia. Lancelin is a small town about an hour’s drive north of Perth and they have some fantastic sand dunes that are great to give some foreground interest to an otherwise normal milky way shot. I went to the dunes on a week night when there was nobody else around with the intention of doing a panorama milky way self-portrait. I hunted around for a while to find an ideal location and ended up settling on this location as I thought it would produce a nice circular shape (as it did). This image is a stitch of 30 images over two rows, each image was captured as 14mm at 25 seconds, f2.8 and ISO was 6400.
