Emily Hansell, Uncontained (Creative 2021)

This self-portrait features an overlayed photograph of the traces left behind of mycelium, captured on an old table’s surface. The intricate branching lines help to visualise my thoughts and feelings that disperse into uncontained places. They represent an inner mapping of my anxieties, a growing body of connections, and explosive waves of memory.
