Bente Andermahr, Waiting to go (CREATIVE 2022)

At Goolwa Wharf, the train driver leans out, masked but steam, waiting for the signal to get going. The Loco No. 621 was built by Islington Workshops in 1936 and officially stopped service August 1969, with a travel history of 672,814 miles in South Australia. It was named "Duke of Edinburgh" in 1971 having been restored, repainted deep green, and beginning its current service as a tourist train. The carriages still bear the name “SteamRanger”. The added textures aim to recognise the age of the engine.
