Wendy Shipley, Wing Watch (ANIMAL & NATURE 2022)
As a relative newcomer to wildlife photography, I’ve learnt that when it comes to photographing birds each individual species requires you to adopt a certain aptitude in getting your shot as I applied when taking these images, for example: when photographing an Osprey hunting for a catch requires you to be ‘alert & ready to move quickly’, whilst the Sacred Kingfisher entails ‘earning their trust’ with slowly moving about as if you haven’t noticed their presence at all and if you want to capture the Tawny Frogmouth with their eyes open, that calls for ‘patience’, even if they do shoot you a look of pure disdain.
